The Brief

Super-Wide, specialists in customised, large-scale prints for businesses, had never had a transactional website before. This project marked their first venture into ecommerce and a full digital transformation of their sales process.

The challenges included:

Supporting a wide variety of print formats, each with unique custom requirements and complex pricing structures.
Building a flexible system that could accommodate current product formats and scale easily as new formats were introduced.
Factoring in the technical constraints of large-scale printers, specifically the need to join multiple prints for oversized formats, which affects production costs.

Accurately calculating delivery times based on differing production schedules for each product type.

Custom storefront display controls: Giving Super-Wide the ability to tailor how customisation options appeared to customers, including labels, tags, images, and descriptions.
Flexible configuration: Making it simple to mark customisation fields as required or optional and add new print formats or options without developer intervention.
